Brewers Dodgers NLCS Game 3: Milwaukee Wins 6-2 to Lead Series 3-0

The Milwaukee Brewers beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 6-2 at Dodger Stadium on Wednesday, October 14, 2026. The result in Brewers Dodgers NLCS Game 3 gives Milwaukee a 3-0 lead in the National League Championship Series (ESPN game page). One more win would send the Brewers to the World Series.

The margin came from power and pitching. Garrett Mitchell, Jake Bauers and Jackson Chourio each homered off Dodgers starter Blake Snell. Milwaukee’s pitchers then held one of baseball’s most dangerous lineups to five hits and two runs.

Brewers Dodgers NLCS Game 3: How Milwaukee Won

Milwaukee out-hit Los Angeles 9-5, and neither team made an error. The Brewers’ three extra-base hits were all home runs, which made the difference on a night when both offenses were quiet with runners in scoring position. Milwaukee went 1-for-5 in those situations and Los Angeles went 1-for-6.

The Brewers scored once in the first inning and then added three in the seventh, one in the eighth and one in the ninth. Bauers drove in two runs, while Mitchell and Chourio each drove in one. Joey Ortiz also had an RBI, and shortstop Cooper Pratt led the team with three hits. Milwaukee hit .257 as a team, well above the Dodgers’ .156.

Snell’s Night and a Quiet Dodgers Lineup

Snell struck out nine batters, but the three home runs left him with four runs allowed and the loss. Relievers Roki Sasaki, Evan Phillips and Justin Wrobleski followed him. Dodgers pitchers struck out 12 Brewers in all, but strikeouts did not save them on a night when the three homers did the damage.

On the other side, the Dodgers’ stars had little impact. Shohei Ohtani went 1-for-4 with a walk, Mookie Betts was 1-for-5, and Freddie Freeman went 0-for-4. Kyle Tucker singled, walked and scored a run. Their only runs came in the sixth inning, when catcher Will Smith hit a two-run double, the Dodgers’ only extra-base hit of the night.

A Bullpen That Did Not Crack

Robert Gasser started for Milwaukee and threw five scoreless innings. He allowed three hits and one walk, struck out three and needed only 72 pitches.

DL Hall followed with 2⅓ scoreless innings and was credited with the win. Closer Trevor Megill finished with 1⅓ scoreless innings for the save. Abner Uribe had the roughest outing. He walked three batters while getting one out, and both Dodgers runs scored in that inning. Milwaukee’s lead held anyway, and its pitchers struck out eight Dodgers hitters overall.

From 2025 Sweep Victims to Series Favorites

The result reverses the story of last year’s NLCS, when the Dodgers swept Milwaukee on their way to another World Series title (ESPN’s 2025 Game 3 recap). The Dodgers entered this series as the two-time defending champions and had finished the 2026 regular season at 100-62.

The Brewers were 103-59 in the regular season and reached the NLCS by beating the San Diego Padres in the division series. According to BizTimes Milwaukee, the club has never won the NLCS or a World Series, and it has not played in the World Series since 1982.

Milwaukee also had the better of the regular-season matchup. DodgerBlue’s series preview reports that the teams met seven times and the Dodgers won only three of them. The Brewers took the first two games of this series, including a 7-4 win on Monday, October 12, before the action moved to Los Angeles.

What Happens Next

The Dodgers now face a very steep climb. Only one MLB team, the 2004 Boston Red Sox, has ever won a postseason series after trailing 3-0.

Game 4 is scheduled for Thursday, October 15, at 5 p.m. Pacific time at Dodger Stadium. A pregame data feed gave the Dodgers a 59.4% chance of winning that game, so the home team remains favored in the single contest. A Milwaukee win would end the series and clinch the pennant. If Los Angeles wins, Game 5 is scheduled for Friday, October 16, also in Los Angeles. Games 6 and 7, if needed, would be played in Milwaukee.

For Milwaukee, Brewers Dodgers NLCS Game 3 was a complete performance: timely homers, a steady starter and a bullpen that gave nothing away. For Los Angeles, the task now is to avoid a sweep for the first time this October. Follow more sports coverage at Human Crisis News.
